A few comments on this:

1. Bennett Whipple has been the apologist for the board ever since he has lived here. He and Walt Filkowski can't say enough good about anything the board does.

2. The new Sconti should be nice for $10 million. I'm sure we will have a lot of people coming to it for the first few months, at least until the novelty has worn off. If you look at the financials, we are subsidizing food and beverage at the rate of $300,000 per year, and we're not in the new facility yet. Look at all the people who have been hired to operate this latest white elephant and then decide if we will have some sort of monthly minimum to force us to support it.

3. We are going to have the CIF in some form. To me, it's like taxes. You never pay now what you can postpone. Having a mailbox designator for houses offered for sale won't really do anything in a gated community. Who is going to see it? Anyone who is seriously trying to sell their house has it in MLS and anyone, realtor or buyer, can look at every house offered for sale in BC.

4. Roger is a very nice person but are we just keeping him on so he can make some money out of this? Or is it so that he can be the lap dog of the board and rubber stamp everything they want.

5. The board is increasingly out of touch with the community. Small things, but look at the latest little annoyances - dog registration, as sponsored by the BCAR, and the nuisance fee to use the pool after 6. Bennett is also proposing mandatory chimney inspections/sweeping, which the board will probably try to institute. What's next, brake inspections for cars going to the higher elevations? How about a toll booth on the walking trails?

I understand the outrage felt by the dissidents who "may" be circulating the recall petition and I strongly suspect that it is a lot more than 32 that would be in favor. One thing the board was right on in their announcement supporting Bob, it's the entire board that is at fault. Kick them all out! Let's hear something substantial from the new candidates, not a recitation of their college career.
